StarDict is a famous E-Dictionary ware on Linux platform.
As an open source project, it developed new versions on other platform, like Microsoft Windows.
But today I would like to tell the experience of its new product - Online Dictionary at Stardict.org .
StarDict is so famous, not only for the Open Source, and on Linux platform,
But also for its large quantities of dictionaries. (may over thousand)
Such as famous Oxford Advance Learner’s Dictionary, Collins Cobuild English Dictionary, Merrian Webster 10th Dictionary, Kingsoft Full Dictionaries, Wikipedia pool, etc.
Today the new online dict is more powerful than any coordinates too.
After the main UI, which is Google liked. It can change into a ajax based interface.
That makes the online dict is almost identical as the software.
And more powerful than the software, ’cause it takes no disk space.

Update: Now StarDict provides a script generator to generate “selected translation” function code for your website. It’s really coool~ Get it here.
Furthermore, there is a greasmonkey script for Mozilla Firefox, which can apply the “selected translation” function to all web pages.
